We’re pleased to share an opportunity for people living with autoimmune diseases to contribute to important research led by the University of Cambridge.
The INSPIRE-Flare survey is designed to explore how patients experience disease flares, including what may trigger, prevent, or precede them. This research is patient-led and supported by clinicians, charities, and researchers with a shared goal: to improve recognition, care, and outcomes for people with autoimmune conditions.
What is the study about?
The survey explores:
- How patients define and experience flares
- What symptoms occur before and during a flare
- Possible triggers and preventers
- The psychological and physical impact of flares
The insights gathered will help shape future treatments, flare recognition, and patient support.
Who can take part?
You’re eligible if you:
- Are aged 18 or over
- Have been diagnosed with at least one autoimmune disease, including (but not limited to):
Sjögren’s, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis, vasculitis, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, or autoimmune thyroid conditions.
What’s involved?
The survey takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and can be done online. Participants can pause and return to the survey as needed.
For those without internet access, a telephone version is also available.
