We are proud to share that our trustee Linda Stone has contributed as an author to a newly published paper:
“Embedding patient engagement in the R&D process of a life sciences company through co‑creation with a patient expert R&D board: a case study.”
The paper presents a case study of Servier, a life sciences company that established a patient expert board to embed a patient‑centric culture within its new research and development institute. The board was created through collaboration between Servier, the patient consultancy Patvocates, and patient experts from across Europe.
Key highlights include:
- 18 patient experts from 10 disease areas and 10 European countries joined the board.
- Five working groups were formed, focusing on initiatives such as a patient advisory council, decentralised trials, and staff training on patient engagement.
- The study offers practical recommendations for companies seeking to embed patient involvement in their R&D strategies.
Linda is listed under author affiliations as: Sjögren’s UK (Previously British Sjögren’s Syndrome Association), Birmingham, UK.
This is a fantastic recognition of Linda’s expertise and of Sjögren’s UK’s role in advancing patient‑centred research and advocacy.
