The Sjögren’s UK receives no government funding, so fundraising and the generosity of others is vital to us. Not only does this money ensure we can continue helping those suffering with Sjögren’s, but we can also carry on with our campaign to raise awareness of this debilitating disease and provide the important support needed for research into its cause and treatment.
There are many ways you can help, whether it’s on your own, in a group, with work colleagues, family or friends. You might want to organise an event, buy some promotional merchandise, sign up for our brand new lottery or even leave a gift in your will, whatever you decide and no matter how much you give, you can be sure your donation will go a long way towards making a difference to those suffering with Sjögren’s and the people around them.
Do you know that you can increase a donation at no extra cost to you? The Governments Gift Aid Scheme allows the Sjögren’s UK to reclaim tax on donations from April 2000 and beyond. That means that for every £1 you give to the Sjögren’s UK, we can reclaim another 25p. All you have to do is fill in a gift aid declaration form. This confirms you are a UK taxpayer and that you agree we can reclaim the tax. No matter whether your donation is large or small, regular or one off, by choosing gift aid, you are donating extra much-needed funds to the charity. To gift aid your donation, please complete the Gift Aid Declaration Form and return it to the Sjögren’s UK, PO Box 15040, Birmingham, B31 9DP. You only have to do this once as your declaration can apply to all future donations!
CHARITABLE EVENTS
If you’re already taking part in an event or are looking for a reason to do so, why not consider doing it on behalf of the Sjögren’s UK. Whether it’s a fun run, a marathon, an abseil or a bungee jump, your sponsorship will make a difference to those suffering with Sjögren’s.
Organising your own event can be a fun way to raise money too, it might be an afternoon tea, tombola, a sponsored walk or a cake stall – you can also download our A-Z guide for some inspirational ideas.
